My First Social Media Experience
My very first social media experience was when I was a freshman in high school. This was about 2007. I had just downloaded Facebook for the first time, and the very first thing that I did was look up my middle school friends, that I left behind when I moved, and added them. It was the coolest and most exciting thing for me at the time. To be able to see how everyone was doing and communicate with them. I remember setting my profile picture as my favorite pair of cool pink Nikes that I owned. Back then social media felt much more authentic and more like true community. We would post on each others walls and virtually poke each other.

Yeah I remember when I first created my Facebook account and looked for my classmates, uploading my selfie in a yellowish filter (that yellowish filter was popular back in the 2010s lol). I used to communicate through the platform like you did, poking friends and celebrating birthdays.. but now the only purpose I use facebook is to see influencers introduce new trader joes products haha
ReplyDeleteyeah the newsfeed has changed so much. All I see are ads and pages that I don't even follow.
DeleteDid you know that the poke is still around? https://www.facebook.com/pokes
